Leadership Training Centre

our mission.

The Leadership Training Centre exists to support the formation and development of Christian leaders across all areas of ministry. Through courses, seminars, lectures and conferences, we equip pastors and church leaders from all Christian denominations for effective service within and beyond the local church.

Through our Certificate in Ministerial Studies (CIMS) and partnerships with institutions including The Queen’s Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education, the Pentecostal Theological Seminary (PTS) and the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC), we provide pathways from foundational pastoral care training through to advanced theological study, including a UK MDiv cohort rooted in the Pentecostal tradition.

Our provision spans pastoral care, crisis ministry, theological education and leadership development — open to every pastor and key leader within the New Testament Church of God and other denominations who seek to deepen their personal and ministerial practice.

Objective 01

Equip Christian leaders to realise their sense of calling and advance the ministry of the Church

The course content and process are specifically designed to facilitate learning that prepares and equips pastors and key leaders for effective ministry inside the church and in the wider community with reference to Luke 4:18–19 (NKJV):

“Preach the gospel to the poor, heal the broken-hearted, proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, set at liberty those who are oppressed, proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Objective 02

Strengthen the Christian voice in the public sphere

The Leadership Training Centre works in partnership with others to strengthen the Christian voice in the public sphere in England and Wales, for example Free Churches Group and other para-church organisations such as interdenominational mission agents in England and Wales as well as the European Pentecostal Theological Association and our own Church of God World Missions initiatives.

Objective 03

Learning about the Pentecostal Heritage

The Heritage Centre and events such as the Annual Oliver Lyseight Lecture provide opportunities for research, enhanced understanding and new insights into the Pentecostal heritage and the specific contribution of the Black Majority Churches (BMCs) to the Christian witness in the local, national and global community. This is particularly pertinent for the current and future generation.
