Foundations

Early Life

Bishop Grandison was born in North London, England, and moved with his family to Jamaica at a young age. At fourteen, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and began attending the New Testament Church of God, Waltham Park, Kingston, Jamaica — the spiritual foundation of his life and ministry.

“He is a stalwart and resolute man of God, undaunted by the task, seeing it as his mission to positively impact the lives of the people.”

In 2000, Bishop Grandison moved to the British Virgin Islands, where he served for three years as Regional Youth & Christian Education Director across the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Guadeloupe, St Kitts and Nevis. It was his first major leadership appointment and helped shape the ministry that followed.

Ministry & Leadership

Ministry Journey

After returning to England in 2003, Bishop Grandison began pastoring a struggling church in Woolwich during a particularly difficult period in its history. He approached the work with clarity and purpose, introducing programmes and initiatives that restored hope, built confidence and encouraged people to recognise their own potential. Among them was the Mentoring Leadership Programme (MLP), which helped equip individuals to make a meaningful contribution within their church.

By the time Bishop Grandison left Woolwich (Chrisma) Church, it had become a thriving congregation, both spiritually and financially. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he recognised that the Church was a vital source of support for many families, and his response helped ensure that members of the community received the care they needed.

Before entering full-time ministry, Bishop Grandison built a successful career in banking, rising to the position of Bank Manager. That experience continues to inform his leadership, bringing organisational insight, sound judgement and strong people skills to his national role within NTCG.

Leading the Church Forward

Vision for NTCG

Bishop Grandison has set out a bold three-year vision and strategic roadmap for the Church, shaped by biblical conviction and a desire to reimagine NTCG as a relational Church that responds to the needs of its congregations and the wider community. The vision was shared nationally through a series of roadshows across the country.

“Bishop Grandison is on a mission to see the Church become relevant and relational in how it connects with its members and the wider community — open to the leading of the Holy Spirit in reimagining how we SEE Church, DO Church and BE the Church.”

He remains deeply aware of NTCG’s rich history and the vital role it has played over generations through Saturday supplementary schools, support for young people in core curriculum subjects, senior citizens’ clubs, employment training centres, day nurseries, youth clubs, food banks, soup kitchens, breakfast clubs and coffee mornings — often serving as a lifeline for some of the most marginalised members of society.

Bishop Grandison’s aim is to ensure that NTCG continues to have the capacity and resources to offer care, support and spiritual guidance at the point of need — remaining relevant, relational and outward-facing as new challenges emerge.
