Rev Phil Gray
National Youth & Discipleship Director
BIOGRAPHY
Following his conversion in 1999 at the age of 14 Philip was uniquely aware of the call that God had placed on His life to serve. This calling has directed the trajectory of his life ever since, seeing him serve in numerous areas of ministry in the church and impacting the lives of people outside of it.
Due to Phil’s evident passion and love for God and His word, by the age of 16, under the leadership of Bishop Winston L. Willis, Phil was presented with opportunities to develop as a preacher, Worship Leader, Children’s Church Worker, and a Sunday School Teacher.
Through the vocational training he received at NTCG Harvest Temple, Phil developed a love for working with young people and was encouraged by his mentor, Reverend Mark Perrin, to complete professional youth work training. This training furnished him with the skills that he needed to enter the world of work as a trained youth work professional.
For over 18 years, Phil has worked within the education, youth and community sector, gaining a plethora of skills and experience. Often, this has involved working in disadvantaged communities, with young people who are considered the hardest to reach.
In 2014, Phil began working for YMCA Black Country Group, serving in management positions and as a senior leader. In 2018, Phil became the group’s Christian Mission Coordinator. A role which encompassed responsibilities of ethos development, spiritual leadership, international networking, oversight and delivery of chaplaincy services, working with people of all faiths, and none.
Phil has served NTCG as a; committed local member and deacon, Local and District Youth Director, National Worship Leader, and National Youth Board member having oversight for music and creative arts, overseeing the birth of Young Levites.
One of Phil’s greatest achievements in life was marrying his amazing wife Cassandra in 2009 and raising their two kingdom warriors: Caleb and Gideon.
Phil’s heart for the youth of NTCG is to see them in awe of Jesus and embracing the call of God on their lives. His desire is to see every young person rooted in the faith, feeling a full sense of belonging to their church and excelling in every area of their life in mind, body, and spirit.
